I’ve got good news and bad news.

The good news: AI won’t replace all human jobs. The bad news: It will replace your job if you’re average.

AI doesn’t kill jobs. Mediocrity does.

The solution? Build your Centaur.

A Centaur—half human, half machine—isn’t science fiction. It’s table stakes. Leverage from AI. Judgment from humans. Not a metaphor. A strategy.

We’re not facing a typical crisis. We’re living through a convergence of crises—stacked, reinforcing, accelerating.

That’s why I launched this Substack with this message.

AI is just the starting gun. The real pressure comes from the intersection of systemic risks:

  • Socioeconomic volatility

  • Institutional collapse

  • Male alienation

  • Runaway inequality

This isn’t a cycle. It’s a shift.

This is the Age of Unpredictability.Size no longer defends you.Agility is the only moat.Adapt or die.

In chess, computers beat grandmasters.Centaur teams—human + machine—beat both. Consistently.

That’s the model.Pattern recognition, computing, and brute force from machines.Intuition, taste, creativity, empathy, and values from humans. The combination isn’t just powerful—it’s dominant.

The AI revolution is different.

Past economic shifts replaced muscle with mind—blue-collar jobs gave way to white-collar work. Economists assumed the cycle would continue. It won’t.

AI isn’t coming for the factory. It’s coming to the office.

This time, it's cognitive labor at risk—coding, research, analysis, writing.

You can’t understand this with a narrow economic lens. You need a hybrid view: economics + tech + social science.

Again, the Centaur model. To navigate what’s next, you need to think like a Centaur.

The Centaur Model doesn’t replace the human. It scales the human.

This is no longer “AI vs. Human.”It’s AI + Human.

And the winners? Not the smartest. The fastest to learn and relearn.

If you’re an individual:Build your Centaur.Pair your judgment, taste, and resilience with machines that don’t sleep.Let AI handle the brute work—data processing, computing, first draft generation, fast synthesis.Use your energy for the only thing that compounds: edge.

If you’re running a company:Flatten the org.Stop worshipping scale.Reward speed, iteration, and decisiveness.Agility beats perfection. Especially now.

In 2018, I predicted in an article that collaborative content generation by humans and machines would reshape how we work and think.

I did not know it would be called Generative AI then. I was early.

Too early. And being early in tech is indistinguishable from being wrong.

But the market’s caught up.

At Enquire, we didn’t just build another AI tool.We built symbiotic learning and augmented intelligence:

  • AI learns from human experts.

  • Experts and clients learn from AI.

  • Proprietary, expert-sourced insights compound real-time, while other models hit their ceiling.

Call it the Data Peak Theory: foundational models eventually choke on their own synthetic feedback loops. They recycle noise until signal disappears.

Enquire’s data is different—expert-sourced, grounded in real-world context. Our models get more Centaur every day.

That’s the same reason Reddit and Quora regained value: human-generated insight still matters.

In mythology, Centaurs were fast, unpredictable, and powerful.Today, they represent the only viable future for work: humans and machines, fused.

The threat isn’t AI.It’s stasis.It’s waiting.It’s being mediocre.

The Centaur Model isn’t a metaphor. It’s a mandate.

Be faster.Be smarter.Be hybrid.Be Centaur.
